L1A1 SLR  Flat backed wall hanger ornament.

Cast is taken from a real SLR and has picked up every detail, right down to manufacturers stamps. Serial Number etc.

 Flat on one side and has two wall hangers. Being flat on one side, this is for ornamental use only. It has no functioning parts being one, resin mould and has no capability to fire.

The rifle was adopted in the mid-1950s (official records vary slightly between 1954 and 1958) following the need to standardize with NATO on the 7.62mm cartridge. The SLR was used in major conflicts including the Malayan Emergency, the Aden Emergency, the Indonesian Confrontation, Northern Ireland, and the Falklands War in 1982. Its replacement, the SA80, began to be phased in around 1985, with the final phase-out completed around 1994.
